Sam and Susan: A marriage without drama

A law firm goes bankrupt and, while partners scramble to find new jobs, SAM ADAMS, a young lawyer, is left behind. Unemployment shakes his confidence but his journalist wife, SUSAN, continues to believe in him. But Sam wonders if his situation could be hopeless. Then a call from a small client brings him to an interview with JACK LANTOS, an aggressive entrepreneur, who hires him as in-house counsel. Sam now becomes a successful deal maker and is well rewarded. Sam and Susan buy a house they have fallen in love with and settle down to raise their children — until Susan, on an interview, discovers the roof is about to fall in on them – again.

Two Writers

STEVE, A doctor writes a novel and attends GILBERT's writer's workshops, believing Gilbert can get his book published. He invites PETER to join him. When Gilbert learns Peter writes advertising he is dismissive, until he is offered a chance to make his dream come true — if he can raise money for a film. When Gilbert woos Peter for the money, the doctor, seeing them together, thinks Peter has written a book and Gilbert is helping him get it published. Peter is accused of 'jumping the line' and relationships turn nasty.
